Someone just asked me, “How do you do it all?”  Haha, that is the number one question I get and I am going to tell yall how I do it.  Give you some pointers.   As it goes in this business, busy, busy, busy is the word of the day!  Im traveling from Rosenberg to Webster to Humble back to Rosenberg…..whew, what a day!  We have a total of 9 kids and between them they play 9 sports, I have three older ones that are out of school that are equally as busy and I like to help them all out and be very active in all their lives…so here is how I do it!  Calendars!!!!  They are my life!

First off, I have a great family calendar.  The online and app calendar I recommend is Cozi!   You can find it on your app store and also online at http://www.cozi.com   You can do everything on this app!  Everyone in the family can add stuff to your calendar via the app or going online.  They can go to your shopping list and tell you when you are out of milk or bread or if they need snacks.  There is a to do option to tell them to clean their room and feed the dog, etc.  It even sends reminders to whoever you want to send them too!  This thing is amazing!

Now Im a visual person as well and so I have the Big Happy Planner…..Ive tried every other planner out there and this is by far my favorite!!!!  You can design it however you’d like and it doesn’t fall apart like the others.  Although I think that is mostly because I bought the leather cover for it.  Well worth the money.

For a person who grew up with no money, the sticker books are pretty much everything I’ve ever wanted!  haha…for real.  They have sticker books for everything.   Finance, a Mom sticker book, Fitness, Teachers, Productivity, Im not kidding…every single thing!  They are pretty, they are functional, they will get you organized.

Here is mine for this week….Yes, I bought the daily planner inserts as well cause I LOVE lists!  They have stamps that you can use to stamp your to do list every time you accomplish a task.  Yes Im goofy and I love it!

I would be so lost without those two things.  As time moves on, I will start sharing with you how I organize mine.  I buy all my stuff for the Happy Planner and Create 365 sticker books at Michael’s.  They have the best selection.  Even better than Amazon.  Imagine that.   I even bought these calendars for my girls and we organize them every Sunday together.   I have to show them how to do this so that life is easier for them as they are starting to get really busy with school and work.  Here is Danielle hard at work on hers.

If you buy one and need help, let me know.   Please share with me how you organize yours.  I love seeing everyone else’s calendars!  Get organized moms, it helps so much.   Mom Power!

What's Erica Rico Wearing »

Sometimes you find an outfit and you are like “Wow!  I can wear this everywhere”!  Every time I wear this, people ask me where I got the dress from, where I got the boots from….well, here you go.

Yes, it is this outfit for me, so don’t be surprised if you see me everywhere in it….no really, I wore it to Dallas’s graduation…I LOVE these dresses!  I just paired it with a necklace I got at Boot Barn.

They’re stretchy, super soft and just the right length.  They are called Piko dresses and they are at , http://www.closetcandy.com

Let’s be honest, I love every thing from this boutique, but once I bought this dress, I went back and bought it in every color!

Here it is in plum:   https://www.closetcandy.com/collections/dresses/products/piko-dreams-are-forever-dress-plum

you can message them and ask them if they will be getting more, but I check their new arrivals daily.  They have new arrivals every single day.

Now, when it comes to jean jackets I am SOOO picky on the fit.  This jean jacket is PERFECT!!!!  I got it in an XS, but honestly a small probably would have been better if I wanted to button it, but I don’t.

They still have them in stock, so hurry and get yours.  XS-1X     https://www.closetcandy.com/collections/outerwear/products/kut-from-the-kloth-denim-jacket-medium-wash

We all know how I am with boots, these are my new favorite.  I never knew a pointed toe boot could be so comfortable.   You know that Boot Barn is my place for all my boots, they actually have these in stock right now.   Trust me, you will be like I NEED THESE the second you put them on!

So act surprised when you see me out in this, ok?  Deal?

Yall just don’t understand how deep my obsession with thigh high boots is.  I want every color there is.  I have red, blue, cream and these bad boys….So I showed yall and talked about them on The New 93Q’s Facebook Live and got a ton of  messages, “Where did you get those?”

They just make every thing look a million times better.  I wear them with jeans and dresses.  Tim likes to have our studio pitch black and so you can’t see them very well even though I lightened the picture a hundred times.

Here is a better picture that I took from the website where I bought them from.  I bought them from my favorite boutique Closet Candy, Im obssesed…its really bad!  I think I like it so much because they put the outfits together for you.   You can buy the shirt, the jeans and the shoes in the picture you see.  They release new items EVERY SINGLE day, so every day I get on and check it…for real.   I told you, Im obsessed…its like Christmas morning….”Ooh I wonder what cute stuff they have today that I MUST have”.   Oh and I snap chatted them the other day and they actually answered me back.   Customer Service is just on point.  Great quality, inexpensive and fast shipping…..yup Im all about it.  When I find something I love, I want everyone to know about it.  Yall know that.

These bad boys have ties in the back so they can fit pretty much anyone’s thighs.   Click here to go directly to this boot.  If you want them in cream (yes I have those too), click here to go to those.  But, wait….there is more.  They even have thigh high boots that are low heeled, click here for those.  Yes, I know their whole inventory.   Quit judging me, I do it for yall!

Look at how cute they look with sweaters….love!~

Now get ready to say…OMG that is soooo freaking cute

yes…I bought that whole outfit!  haha.. click here for this outfit

Ok so do NOT tell your hubbys that I am the one that told you about  this website because you are trying to throw your money at them.  It is not my fault, you have been warned.  Its extremely addicting.

Send me pictures of you if you buy anything!  I wanna see!

I would wear all black every day if I could.  Its a real problem.  So, my solution to this is that I dress up my all black outfits with a little of color.  I know what you are thinking, “Erica….gray is a pretty boring color”…or is it?

I wake up the in the morning, put on my favorite leggings (which btw I have 20 pairs of), grab a black undershirt, then grab a black long sleeve shirt and think “ugh I did it again….must add something to this”.

Here is where I got everything:

Vest is from Stitch Fix.  Stitch Fix is a website that sends you cloths every month, you try it on at home and ship back whatever you don’t want or whatever doesn’t fit you.  Its one of my favorite things.  Its like Christmas every month when I get my box.  They look at your Pinterest boards to get to know your style and how you want to dress, you give them your sizes and what patterns you don’t like, what types of clothes you do like.   The stylists are pretty awesome.  It can be a little pricey sometimes but so worth not having to go to a mall and search for the items myself.  Great quality too.

https://www.stitchfix.com/?new_registration_page=true&remove_size=true&zip_code_removal=true&referred_by_question=true&variant=brand_campaign_1

My long sleeve black shirt is from Target.  I seriously just buy several of these every winter and use them with different vests and cardigans.

The Leggings are my favorite leggings that my daughter sells…..nothing compares to these.

Boots are from http://www.shoedazzle.com/ oh don’t get me started on shoedazzle.com I LOVE it!  I have like 15  pairs of boots from shoe dazzle, great prices, great products!

I don’t think they have these anymore on that site but I know for a fact that http://www.closetcandy.com/collections/shoes/products/sole-searching-boots-grey these are amazing and pretty close and in stock!  LOVE THESE!

Its that time of year when I only have to do the bottom part of my hair cause its Rodeo time and I will have my hat on 24/7!  haha.  Curl the ends and you are done.   With Rodeo around the corner, its time for us to start shopping.  Now when it comes to Rodeo, you have to make sure that you not only look good, you also need to be comfortable.  “Cute” only gets you so far when you are walking for miles.  Here is what I am wearing and where I bought it all at.

My hat comes from Boot Barn, of course.  My favorite country store.   It is a Resistol George Strait hat.   Make sure that when you buy your hat, you get someone who knows how to properly shape a hat.  It has to fit you and your face and head.   I recommend going to Boot Barn in Baytown and asking for Con or Boot Barn in Rosenberg and asking for Darryl.  Hes a huge brat, but so good.  I ask for the George Strait shape, which is the harder edges on the front.

The shirt comes from Guess in Memorial City Mall

The belt is from Boot Barn

The jeans are Miss Me’s and I bought them at Boot Barn as well.  Im telling yall, one stop shop.  Get something with pockets that button in the back so that you can put money, credit cards, etc back there and they wont fall out if you sit down or go on rides.

Now boots are sooo important!  I pretty much only buy Corral boots, my all time faves!  If you will be going to rodeo or mainly using boots to walk around on sidewalks or concrete, make sure you get some with the rubber part on the sole.  Trust me, you will be able to walk all day in these if they have that.   I love Corral boots because it feels like someone else already broke them in for you.  I prefer square toed boots for comfort.  Once you try them on, you wont want any thing else!

This is what Im talking about…this is how the bottom should look.

Just go to Boot Barn, they will hook you up from head to toe!  Easy!

Rico Wear – My new favorite boots! 1/27/17

My new favorite boots!  Im obsessed!  Yall are asking me, “What are you wearing”?  “Where did you buy that at?” so Im going to start sharing with yall what Im wearing every day and where you can buy it.   I’ll even add links cause I freaking love yall!

I got so many compliments on these boots.  Yall know I love the color black, literally 3/4 of my closet is all black.  These boots can be worn with all black, with jeans, with dresses and these thigh high boots are soooo in right now!

They have a heel, but they are not so high that they hurt or that they are hard to walk in.  I had them on all day from 4am to 10pm and they did not hurt once.  They were true to size.  I wear a 7, bought a 7 and they fit perfectly.  i have them in black also and the black ones are  little big but I don’t care.  haha

Where to buy everything:

The necklaces comes from White House Black Market

The shirt I bought at Target

Leggings (my favorite) my daughter sells, message me if you want to buy them.

The BOOTS!!!!   You can buy them here!  This is my favorite boutique right now, I pretty have every thing they own.  http://www.closetcandy.com/collections/shoes/products/waltz-right-over-the-knee-boots-taupe

ahhh I love them!  Happy shopping, let me know if you buy anything!  Me and my Abby, who always makes me look good, she cuts my hair.

I love her and I love yall!

Made with Love »

This is one of the recipes I get asked the most about…..My kids and Tim call it my Cold Buster Tea.  Its super easy to make and store.

This stuff works so much, our son Jonas actually talked about it in his wedding toast to us.   haha true story.  There’s video of it!   As soon as anyone in my family feels a cold coming on, they run to me, “MOM!  I need your magic tea!”….its SOOO easy to make!

Grab a wide mouth mason jar.  If you don’t have a wide mouth, any mason jar with a lid will do.   Wide mouth just makes it super easy.

Next grab some lemons, slice them up.  Fill the mason jar half way up with slices lemons

slice them up like this in little pieces so that they are easy to grab with a spoon.

Next slice up pieces of ginger and throw them into the mason jar.  I normally fill til the mason jar is 3/4 of the way filled with lemons and ginger.   The heat of the ginger will help you to sweat out all the gross stuff that is attacking your body.   Ginger is also known for its great digesting abilities.  Get rid of those nasty bugs attacking your body!

Next and very important, find LOCAL honey.   Not only will help with allergies but its so much better for you!   I get mine from Vinceks BBQ in East Bernard.   This honey is sooo amazing.   You can also try farmers markets, just ask them, “Is this local honey?”….find honey as close to your house as possible.   If you do go to Vinceks, check out their beef jerky.  No kidding, BEST beef jerky ever!   Oops, I got side tracked with beef jerky…ok back to making you better.  Also, remember to not give honey to anyone under 1 year old….ever!   Now fill the jar with honey, just pour it right over the lemons and ginger.  It will turn into a syrup and super easy to spoon out.   No other liquids needed.   Just honey, ginger and lemons….that is it.

Now keep it in the fridge for up to a month.   While you are sick, make yourself a hot cup of water and dump big spoonfulls of this stuff into your cup.  If you want extra help, use black or green tea bags in your cup.   Trust me, if you have a sore throat, this will help sooo much!   Let me know how it works for you!

When it comes to making appetizers, I’m all about them being as easy as possible as I still have to make the main dish and possibly dessert.   These could not be easier or tastier!   They were gone in my house in 5 minutes.

The only problem I found with them was that I ate so much I made myself sick….but it was so worth it!  I probably ate half of these.   As usual, I called one of the kids to help me with this while I was making the main course.  Alex came down and made some homemade ranch dip for the wings and wedge salad, she also warmed up the cream cheese to spread on the jalapeno halves.  It makes me so happy when one of the kids helps me with dinner.   The time with them and the talks are invaluable.

Here is the recipe….like I said – SUPER EASY!

Ingredients
  • 1 block of cream cheese (softened) (or 2 depending on how big jalapenos are)
  • 12 jalapeno peppers, halved lengthwise, seeds and membranes removed
  • 24 thin slices bacon
Directions
  1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C). Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil.  I even put a cooling rack in there so that the grease from the bacon drips down.
  2.  Fill each jalapeno half with the cream cheese.  Wrap each stuffed pepper with a slice of bacon. Arrange bacon-wrapped peppers on the prepared baking sheet.
  3. Bake in the preheated oven until bacon is crispy, about 20 minutes.

That is it!  I told you, easy!  You can also add some cheddar cheese and mix with cream cheese, but I don’t like the extra grease from the cheddar.  Its all about what you like.  Dont forget to share the recipe and let me know how it came out for you!
